Most people look at performance and ask one question:
"Is it up?"
That is the wrong question.
The right question is: Is it behaving the way it is supposed to?
Sharp Picks is built on probability, not streaks. So here is how to read the model dashboard the right way.
ROI and Record
ROI tells you efficiency. Record tells you direction.
A 7-2 record looks great. But what matters is whether the wins came from edges the model expected to win.
Short samples are noisy. Edge quality is signal.
Focus on process over streak.
Calibration Buckets
This is the most important section on the entire dashboard.
Each bucket represents games grouped by projected win probability.
If the model says a play wins 58% of the time, over the long run it should win roughly 58%.
Calibration tells us if reality matches expectation. If it does, the model is honest. If it does not, we adjust.
> One hot streak does not prove a model. Accurate calibration does.
Selectivity
You will see total picks vs passes.
Passing is not inactivity. Passing is filtration.
The average betting product pushes volume. We push restraint.
Selectivity protects capital.
Risk Profile
Max drawdown. Average days between picks. Average edge published.
These are not vanity metrics. They tell you what kind of volatility to expect.
If risk increases, conviction must increase. That principle shows up here.
What This Dashboard Is Not
It is not a highlight reel. It is not marketing.
It is a transparency tool.
The goal is not to look impressive. The goal is to behave consistently.
That is how models compound.
